Employer Value Prop: Step into an elite advisory role partnering directly with mid-market CEOs and CFOs across the Midwest. Move beyond product peddling to deliver high-impact, independent technology strategy alongside seasoned practice leaders within a supportive, high-accountability boutique culture.

As the Business Development Executive, you will guide middle-market leadership teams through foundational business and technology transitions. You are not selling boxed software or IT support; you are an executive advisor and strategic door-opener helping CEOs and CFOs solve their most complex leadership, governance, and operational challenges. You will spend your days initiating peer-to-peer dialogues with business owners, uncovering critical operational friction points, and quarterbacking long-term advisory partnerships supported by senior practice directors and fractional CIOs.

    Why This Opportunity Stands Out

    • True Strategic Advisory: Represent independent, vendor-agnostic C-suite counsel—focusing 100% on what propels the client's business, with zero software vendor ties.
    • High-Trust Executive Access: Engage CEOs, CFOs, and COOs as a credible peer, framing technology as an operational driver rather than an IT cost center.
    • Deep Collaborative Backing: Work hand-in-hand with dedicated Managing Directors and seasoned CIOs who partner with you to scope, pitch, and close high-value engagements.
    • Uncapped Compensation Architecture: Base salary of $120k-$140k paired with an uncapped 10% first-year origination fee and 8% follow-on commission on long-term retainer engagements averaging $100k-$125k (Target Year 1 OTE: $225k-$250k+).

    What You Will Do

    • Build C-Suite Relationships: Proactively identify and engage CEOs, CFOs, and COOs across manufacturing, distribution, logistics, construction, and real estate.
    • Activate Referral Networks: Build recurring referral pipelines with commercial banking vice presidents, PE operating partners, and regional accounting leaders.
    • Lead Executive Diagnostic Discovery: Facilitate meaningful boardroom discussions that uncover hidden risks in executive IT leadership, digital readiness, and cyber governance.
    • Quarterback Solution Proposals: Partner directly with practice leaders to shape retainer-based advisory proposals and navigate deals to successful closure.

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of consultative B2B business development experience selling high-value professional services, technology advisory, or management consulting.
    • Proven track record of independently opening doors and closing solutions with C-level executives in middle-market companies (50M-500M+).
    • Demonstrated domain exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, construction, or commercial real estate ecosystems.
    • High intellectual agility, consultative discovery acumen, and executive presence in environments.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent executive sales experience.
