Who We Need

 

Ericsson Federal Technologies Group (EFTG) has an immediate opening for an experienced Director of Business Development. This position will manage the formulation and execution of strategic and business development activities within the Department of Defense market. This position will take an active role cultivating customers and partners and developing and executing new programs and ventures within allocated funds.

 

What You’ll Do

 

The Director for Business Development is responsible for developing and executing Ericsson Federal Technologies Group’s growth strategy. The candidate will work with customers and industry partners and draw upon the broader capabilities of Ericsson to create a differentiated position for EFTG. Specifically, the individual will lead the development of Government-wide opportunities, building strategic relationships with defense industry Large scale System Integrators (LSIs) and the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). In addition, this candidate will manage the responses for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Task Orders (TOs).

 

EFTG focuses on providing complete end-to-end solutions for the government based on Ericsson’s commercial and strategic partners products. Therefore, the opportunity pipeline will consist of solutions, services, and product sales. Leverage your technical background to ensure business decisions can be vetted and solutions are presented to potential customers.

 

Use strategic and tactical capabilities and leadership in opportunity capture and business strategy/vision as well as an ability to work independently.

 

Strongly Desired Traits:

 

  • Proven, relevant and current industry experience and/or operational experience with the military communities
  • Demonstrated business acumen and experience with DoD acquisition In this exciting role, you will focus on:
  • Market Research and Analysis: Understanding market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with key customers.
  • Capture Planning and Execution: Developing and implementing capture strategies for specific opportunities.
  • Proposal Development: Leading the development and preparation of proposals for potential business opportunities.

 

  • Bid and Proposal Management: Managing the bid and proposal process, ensuring compliance with regulations and requirements.
  • Business Development Strategy: Contributing to the development and execution of overall business development strategies.

 

In addition, you will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Building strong customer partnerships and represent EFTG to the customer
  • Formalizing and executing a Go-To-Market Strategy for current and future products and services
  • Designing and directing the capture strategy and positions our team to win.
  • Focusing on the big picture solutions and remaining prospect focused.
  • Applying knowledge of proposal development, guide on the solution, and remain knowledgeable on price to win strategies as well as customers, competitors, products, services, and people in the Defense industrial base.
  • Ultimately responsible for winning the opportunity and managing the pursuit through contract award.
  • Understanding and applying principles of life cycle management, phase reviews, competitor intelligence analysis, and strategy development.
  • Overseeing the execution of the capture plan and alignment with program plans.
  • Regularly interface with senior customers and provide strategy, talking points, and regular support to EFTG senior leaders engaging with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Understanding the defense acquisitions system and aligning the campaign with the program milestones.
  • Initiating proposal activities, presentations, and briefings.
  • Be the driving force to strengthen our customer intimacy and strategic growth
  • Enhancing our industry partnership while positioning to expand the EFTG brand
  • Identifying, recommending, and winning new business opportunities
  • Developing short and long-range forecasts, sales plans, and marketing plans
  • Performing opportunity/competitive analytics and research to support growth
  • Advising leadership to ensure proper customers’ needs/targets alignment
  • Creating a culture of success and ongoing business and personal goal achievement
  • Ensure high quality deliverables to the EFTG standards
  • Location: DC Metro Area Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of work experience or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of proven year-over-year sales growth within the DoD industry markets
  • Experience with technology products, solutions and services
  • Experience in crafting competitively differentiating teaming for complex bids
  • Proven expertise in USG proposal preparation
  • Proven experience in driving organic growth within the DoD industry markets
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI is preferred at time of hire. The individual selected will be subject to a U.S Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of the work performed within our organization, U.S. citizenship is required (no dual citizenship)
