Job Details

Job Details / Responsibilities:

Review, evaluate, and monitor critical numbers and progress toward volume and quality goals
Take decisive action to reverse negative admission and discharge volume trends
Implement and refine plans that ensure marketing effectiveness
Use monthly data to measure progress and adjust strategies
Monitor and measure volume, case mix growth, CMS %, payer mix %, and functional outcomes to ensure quality product lines
Communicate marketplace opportunities and threats to senior leadership
Manage all marketing operations, including hiring and recruiting staff
Educate and develop marketing/sales staff on tools, budget, sales skills, and territory management to achieve volume goals
Effectively communicate financial data and operational indicators to marketing and relevant teams
Understand and manage the full admission process, including insurance verification, pre-certification, bed control, hospital discharges, and barrier resolution
Manage the reimbursement system as it relates to volume impact, resource utilization, and length-of-stay to promote quality outcomes
Identify new product lines and repackage existing ones in collaboration with hospital leadership
Drive grassroots marketing efforts as market conditions require
Communicate effectively with referral sources to market and educate on product lines
Develop marketing collateral and advertising (with corporate support) that meets local market needs
Plan and coordinate marketing, media coverage, and public relations activities to increase volume
Utilize CRM for creating, tracking, and monitoring liaison territory management, referrals, and activities
Build 30 days of planned activities in advance
Complete pre-call planning on a minimum of 95% of activities and ensure results/post-call follow-up is entered on a minimum of 95% of all activities

Qualifications:

Proven background in healthcare sales leadership and/or healthcare marketing leadership
Must have direct experience leading a sales team (direct reports required — title alone is not sufficient)
Experience training, leading, and developing sales people
Experience working directly with physicians as referral sources
Comfortable and experienced being in the field for ride-alongs with the team
Stable career history (no frequent job hopping)
Clinical background (RN, therapist, or similar) preferred but not required
