The Opportunity

As Business Development Coordinator, you will support the coordination of business development and resource mobilisation processes within Plan International Lebanon. Working under the guidance and direct supervision of the Business Development Manager, you will work closely with programme, MERL, Finance, Advocacy & Influencing, Grants, Risks and Partnerships teams, partners, and Plan International National Offices to identify, develop, and pursue funding opportunities aligned with Plan Lebanon's Country Strategy and programmes.

In this role, you will:

• Monitor and identify relevant funding opportunities across humanitarian, development, and nexus streams, and assess donor priorities, eligibility, funding levels, geographic and sector priorities, timelines, partnership requirements, and risks to inform Go/No-Go decisions
• Engage with Plan International National Offices and fundraising offices to share funding opportunities, needs, and priorities
• Represent Plan International Lebanon with donors and stakeholders as delegated by the Business Development Manager
• Develop donor engagement and fundraising materials, including capacity statements, donor briefs, success stories, and tailored materials
• Support and/or lead the development of high-quality concept notes and grant proposals in line with Plan Lebanon's proposal development SOPs, donor requirements, Country Strategy, evidence, and needs assessments
• Coordinate proposal development with the Business Development Manager, Director of Programmes, MERL, technical teams, Finance, partners, and relevant National Offices
• Support and facilitate proposal design workshops with programme teams, relevant units, and partners
• Work with Programme Managers and Finance to develop effective and efficient budgets aligned with planned interventions and the annual budget
• Ensure proposals are gender-responsive, conflict-sensitive, and incorporate safeguarding principles and requirements
• Review proposal packages for completeness, consistency, quality, and donor compliance before submission for final review and approval
• Capture lessons learned from successful and unsuccessful proposals and apply learning to future proposal development
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date funding pipelines, stakeholder matrices, mapping sheets, donor profiles, opportunity trackers, proposal calendars, donor contact lists, and other business development tools
• Maintain an organised repository of proposals, concept notes, budgets, donor feedback, templates, donor intelligence, and lessons learned
• Provide updates on funding opportunities, pipeline status, proposal progress, deadlines, funding gaps, risks, and recommended actions
• Track business development performance, including submissions, outcomes, success rates, donor feedback, and funding forecasts
• Ensure proposal packages are properly archived in line with Business Development Unit guidelines, Plan International information management, and data protection requirements

Key Relationships

• Internal: Plan Lebanon team, including the Director of Programmes, MERL, Finance, Programme Managers, Advocacy & Influencing, Grants, Risks and Partnerships, and other relevant functions; Plan International National Offices and fundraising offices.
• External: Donors and partners.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• At least 3 years of professional experience in proposal development, business development, or equivalent experience

• University degree in the field of Social Sciences, Economics, International Development or related fields.

• Experience working within teams and coordinating complex tasks

• Experience with donors such as EU, AFD, SDC, SIDA, DFAT, DFID, GFFO, BMZ, UN OCHA, ECHO, FCDO, Gulf donors, and similar funding partners

• Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English, with strong proposal, report, briefing paper, and research writing skills in English

• Strong skills in project and budget design, time management, coordination, and problem solving

• Good facilitation skills and ability to deliver briefings and trainings

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate across sectors to address issues affecting children and youth through a multi-sectoral approach

• Good understanding of Lebanon and the regional context, particularly issues affecting children and young people, especially girls and young women

• Knowledge of the humanitarian and development donor landscape in Lebanon and the region

• Knowledge of Child Protection, GBV, Education, and Youth Economic Empowerment sectors

• Experience with projects targeting adolescents and youth, particularly adolescent girls and young women, is desirable

• Flexible and independent working approach, with the ability to work effectively within a small team

• Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with diverse and cross-cultural audiences
