Position Overview: Under departmental direction, assists with business growth, contacting clients, creating proposals, maintaining client records and assisting in client outreach efforts; related work as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Assist in identifying and researching prospective clients, including utility companies, cooperatives, and municipalities.Support the preparation of bids, proposals, and presentations for potential clients.Coordinate meetings, follow-ups, and communications with current and potential customers.Conduct industry and market research to support business development strategies.Represent the company professionally at networking events and trade shows (as assigned).Collaborate with internal teams including estimating, safety, and operations to support project proposals.Assist with drafting client communication and marketing materials as needed.Provide support for the business development team.Work with other departments in organization to define needs and improve business processes.Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) - preferred.3-5 years of experience with utility construction industry – preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills – requiredValid commercial driver's license and ability to travel as needed - required.KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:Knowledge:Knowledge of utility construction industry, practices, methods, terminology.Knowledge and practice of effective business development practices and strategies. Knowledge of organizations that support the electrical industry and how those organizations work together. Knowledge of computer hardware and related software programs – MS Office suit.Abilities:Ability to think critically and solve problems.Ability to manage multiple priorities, pay attention to detail, learn quickly and take initiative. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Ability to research and provide relevant feedback/provide ideas/think innovatively. Must operate vehicle as a requirement of the position as necessary.Contacts: Frequent internal and external contacts requiring tact and diplomacy.Availability: My be required to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.Overtime Provision: Exempt.
