Under the guidance of the Director of Emergency Management, the Business Continuity Program Manager will support the development, implementation, management, and sustainment of the University of Kansas Medical Center''s comprehensive Business Continuity Program, advancing organizational resilience and operational preparedness. The Program Manager will collaborate with academic, research, clinical, and administrative stakeholders to identify critical business functions, assess operational risks and vulnerabilities, and develop strategies that ensure continuity of operations during disruptions, emergencies, disasters, and technology outages.
Key responsibilities include leading and facilitating Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), conducting risk assessments, developing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), and coordinating the creation of departmental and enterprise downtime playbooks to support continued operations during system interruptions and other adverse events. The Business Continuity Program Manager will establish program standards, methodologies, and performance measures; support training, exercises, and plan validation activities; and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance organizational readiness and recovery capabilities.
The Program Manager will serve as a key partner in strengthening the institution''s capacity to anticipate, withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptions while maintaining its mission of patient care, education, research, and service.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Continuity, Emergency Management, Business, Information Technology, or equivalent field.
Work Experience
Project management experience.

Certifications
CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional).
CFCP (Certified Functional Continuity Professional).

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
