JOB SUMMARY:

Provides highly skilled consulting and counseling services to South Carolina small businesses to foster economic development in creating new businesses, expanding existing business and developing business opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned such as serving as our region resident expert for early stage business support

JOB DUTIES:

40% - Essential - Consulting: Entrepreneurial Ownership-Focused: As directed, provides professional guidance and consultation on business development topics aligned with ownership. This topical set includes: Risk Tolerance, Strategic Direction, Competitive Positioning, and Return on Investment. Fully employs our Consulting Processes to provide Professional consulting within our SBDC scope of work at the highest possible standard.

40% - Essential - Consulting: Entrepreneurial Managerial-Focused: As directed, provides professional guidance and consultation on business development topics aligned with management. This topical set includes: Strategic Management and General Functional Management across the spectrum of the business to include Marketing & Sales, Operations, HR, and Finance. Fully employs our Consulting Processes to provide Professional consulting within our SBDC scope of work at the highest possible standard.

10% - Essential - Training - Provides training aligned with the needs of early stage clients as approved.

10% - Essential - Non-Consulting - Professional Development and Office Administration: Provides monthly/ quarterly/special reports while performing additional office administration tasks, as required. Abides by our SOP for Consulting and Access To Capital support to include the entering of all client activity into the CRM system per procedures on a timely basis. Successfully obtains minimally required professional development credits annually.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - 1st Bachelors Degree

Work Exp 1+ years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Work Exp 3+ years

RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the departments budget.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

10% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period

10% - Walk or move about

80% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself

WORKING CONDITIONS:

5% - Occasional overnight travel

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 20

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Expected Hourly Rate: $22/hour

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidates previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemsons compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal operations: Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected to work onsite during emergency situations
