Location: Tysons Corner, VA (Remote / Hybrid)
Duration: Fulltime
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Business Architect / Analyst to support business transformation through AI-enabled workflow modernization, business architecture, and Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) solution development.
This is a
hands-on functional-technical role requiring experience translating business needs into workflow solutions, configuring LCNC platforms, developing prototypes and proof-of-concepts (POCs), and working closely with Business and IT stakeholders.
The successful candidate will help organizations modernize manual and non-scalable business processes by identifying opportunities for automation, standardization, reuse, and streamlined operations. The role requires the ability to work across multiple COTS/LCNC platforms and translate business requirements into practical, technology-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain Business Architecture across business domains and customer/taxpayer segments.
- Create AI-enabled business blueprints by analyzing business documentation, public information, legacy systems, policies, and existing process information.
- Lead and participate in discovery sessions with business SMEs to identify business needs, pain points, process gaps, and opportunities for modernization.
- Perform hands-on, near-real-time workflow configuration and prototyping using LCNC/COTS platforms.
- Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs), prototypes, journey maps, microjourneys, and business blueprints to validate future-state workflows and operational concepts.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, simplify, and automate end-to-end business processes, including AI-enabled automation opportunities.
- Translate business requirements and operational needs into actionable workflow capabilities and technical roadmaps.
- Identify and promote reuse of existing application components, enterprise services, common functions, and reusable business capabilities.
- Assemble turn-key workflow solutions using existing/reusable technology components to accelerate onboarding of business processes.
- Partner with IT, engineers, product teams, technical SMEs, and business leadership to identify technical enablers and integration requirements.
- Maintain business context and architecture artifacts through the lifecycle from journey definition through ideation and prototyping.
- Support future-state operating model development independently of current technology limitations.
- Enable Business SMEs through knowledge transfer and hands-on coaching in areas such as business architecture, data, workflow configuration, reusable components, and process ownership.
- Analyze data and integration requirements and communicate technical needs to IT teams.
- Support cross-functional teams in balancing user needs, leadership priorities, technical constraints, and business outcomes.
- Provide troubleshooting, gap analysis, and recommendations to eliminate inefficient processes and outdated procedures.
- Support continuous improvement and adoption of modern AI-enabled business operations.
Required Qualifications- 10+ years of experience in Business Architecture, business analysis, business transformation, or a closely related discipline, with significant experience using LCNC platforms to develop workflow prototypes.
- Demonstrated experience conducting business discovery sessions with SMEs, including hands-on, real-time workflow configuration and prototyping.
- Hands-on experience developing Journey Maps, Microjourneys, Business Blueprints, and workflow prototypes directly within LCNC/COTS platforms.
- Experience applying AI and emerging technologies to business discovery, process optimization, automation, and workflow modernization.
- Business Architect certification in at least one applicable COTS/LCNC platform. Relevant certifications include Salesforce Certified B2B Solution Architect, Salesforce Certified Business Analyst
- Demonstrated experience supporting cross-functional teams and balancing user needs with business leadership objectives.
- Strong communication, collaboration, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering/design, including backend scripting and queries using relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Pega, Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Palantir Foundry/AIP.
- Strong understanding of software configuration models, UX standards, accessibility requirements including Section 508, and software development best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in hands-on technical or functional-technical roles, preferably within a consulting or contractor environment.
- Ability to work effectively within project schedules, deadlines, and defined deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work across multiple COTS/LCNC platforms, rather than being limited to a single technology, platform, or business domain.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science or equivalent CS-focused bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications- Private-sector experience with an innovation-oriented, customer-focused approach to business transformation.
- Experience modernizing legacy or manual business processes.
- Experience creating reusable workflow components and turn-key business solutions.
- Experience with human-centered design and iterative discovery/prototyping.
- Experience working across Business Architecture, IT, data, application, and integration teams.
- Experience with AI-enabled workflow automation and intelligent business operations.
