Role : Business Analyst with Scrum Master
Location : Oakland, CA (Onsite)
Salary : $110K
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with Scrum Master responsibilities to lead functional discussions, bridge business and technology teams, and facilitate Agile delivery. The candidate will be responsible for requirements management, stakeholder engagement, backlog grooming, and ensuring effective Agile execution while serving as a part-time Scrum Master for one or more delivery squads.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead requirement workshops, discovery sessions, and functional design discussions.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and actionable backlog items.
- Manage and prioritize product backlog in collaboration with Product Owners and delivery teams.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Track sprint progress, remove impediments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum best practices and delivery governance.
- Act as a liaison between business users, engineering teams, architects, and project leadership.
- Support UAT planning, execution, defect triage, and business sign-offs.
- Monitor project risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones while providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Drive process optimization and recommend improvements to enhance team productivity and delivery quality.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Lead.
- 2+ years of experience facilitating Agile/Scrum teams.
- Strong expertise in requirements elicitation, process modeling, and stakeholder management.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in backlog management, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definition.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
