What We Offer
The Senior Business Analyst - HL7 Interfaces serves as a domain expert for healthcare interoperability and system integrations. This role is responsible for leading requirements discovery, workflow analysis, and stakeholder collaboration for HL7- and FHIR-based interfaces across EMR and enterprise systems. The position requires a strong understanding of patient workflows, interface engines, Epic Bridges, and Agile delivery practices, along with the ability to effectively engage vendors and technical teams.
Only considering candidates with Epic Bridges Certification and 5 years experience required in healthcare IT or integration-focused business analysis, along with HL7 experience.
This is a Remote Position. Candidates can be located in any state EXCEPT NY, NJ, IL, and CA.
What You'll Do
Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions for HL7 and FHIR interface initiatives.
Analyze and document end-to-end patient workflows and system interactions.
Develop and maintain interface specifications, mapping documents, and acceptance criteria.
Drive vendor discussions by asking informed technical and workflow-based questions.
Identify when architectural input is required and proactively engage integration architects.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage backlog items using Azure DevOps or Jira.
Communicate risks, dependencies, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 5 years required in healthcare IT, system integration, or API-focused business analysis.
Additional Skills (required):
Working knowledge of API concepts, including REST, API contracts, and documentation standards.
Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting requirements for system integrations or APIs.
Additional Skills (preferred):
Experience supporting API initiatives in a healthcare environment.
Familiarity with Swagger / OpenAPI documentation tools.
Experience working with integration platforms or enterprise integration teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
