BUSINESS ANALYST – JD EDWARDS / FINANCIAL SYSTEMS
Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst – JD Edwards / Financial Systems to serve as a key liaison between Finance, Accounting, Payroll, IT, and other business functions. This position will leverage strong business and financial knowledge, combined with hands-on JD Edwards ERP experience, to analyze business needs, develop system solutions, improve processes, and support the organization’s financial and operational systems.


The ideal candidate will be a strong problem solver who understands both business processes and technology and can translate user requirements into practical ERP solutions. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert for JD Edwards, provide functional support to end users, develop reporting solutions, and lead or support system enhancements and projects.


OVERVIEW OF THE BUSINESS ANALYST ROLE:



  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Payroll, Procurement, and other departments to understand business needs and identify opportunities for system and process improvements.

  • Gather, document, analyze, and prioritize business requirements and translate them into functional ERP solutions.

  • Evaluate existing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for automation or improvement.

  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure solutions meet operational requirements.

  • Provide hands-on functional support for JD Edwards, with a focus on financial and business processes.

  • Support JD Edwards modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Procurement, and HR/Payroll.

  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and coordinate solutions with internal and technical resources.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and internal resource for JD Edwards functionality and business processes.

  • Assist with system testing, upgrades, integrations, enhancements, and implementation of new functionality.

  • Lead or support JD Edwards projects from requirements gathering through implementation.

  • Manage project activities, timelines, milestones, testing, and stakeholder communications.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve system functionality, and increase operational efficiency.

  • Develop recommendations that balance business requirements, system capabilities, and organizational priorities.

  • Develop and maintain financial, accounting, payroll, and operational reports using JD Edwards reporting tools, including DAS Reports Now.

  • Analyze system and financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Support users with reporting needs and assist in developing solutions to improve access to accurate and timely information.

  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze, reconcile, and present data.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE BUSINESS ANALYST:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ERP Analyst, Financial Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting JD Edwards.

  • Hands-on JD Edwards experience is required.

  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Procurement, and/or Payroll.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate financial and operational data.

  • Experience with DAS Reports Now or similar JD Edwards reporting tools preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, analyze business processes, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective system solutions.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
