Business Analyst Pharmaceutical R&D

This role will partner with Therapeutic Area Units (TAUs) and technology stakeholders to identify, articulate, and document business and technical needs across the drug development organization. This individual should be comfortable facilitating discovery discussions, asking the right questions to uncover stakeholder needs, and translating those needs into clear, actionable business and technical requirements.

Location: 100% Remote | US
Duration: 6 plus months
Pay rate: $80/HR - $90/HR (negotiable)

Need a strong BA who would also have PM experience.  BA would help articulate technical/business needs so knowing the Pharma domain is very important. 
TAUs span across all of our assets so general drug development process and the supporting technologies.  
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with Project Management experience to support mid-year planning initiatives within a global pharmaceutical R&D organization. This role will partner with Therapeutic Area Units (TAUs) and technology stakeholders to identify, articulate, and document business and technical needs across the drug development organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Business Analysis background, hands-on Project Management experience, and a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical drug development lifecycle. This individual should be comfortable facilitating discovery discussions, asking the right questions to uncover stakeholder needs, and translating those needs into clear, actionable business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Therapeutic Area Unit stakeholders to identify and articulate business and technical needs in support of planning initiatives.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and discovery sessions to understand business needs, priorities, challenges, gaps, and dependencies.
• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technology requirements.
• Conduct process analysis and develop process flows or other documentation to help define current and future business needs.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements and actionable information for technology teams.
• Help stakeholders define and organize requirements that may initially be loosely defined.
• Support planning activities across multiple therapeutic areas and drug development initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison between business and technology teams to ensure alignment and clear communication.
• Provide Project Management support by coordinating activities, timelines, dependencies, action items, and stakeholder follow-ups.
• Manage multiple priorities and stakeholder groups within a complex, cross-functional R&D environment.
• Facilitate meetings and maintain clear documentation of requirements, decisions, and next steps.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Project Management experience supporting cross-functional business and technology initiatives.
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical drug development lifecycle and R&D environment.
• Demonstrated experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and translating business and technical requirements.
• Experience with process mapping, business process analysis, and requirements documentation.
• Strong experience facilitating discussions with business and technology stakeholders to uncover and define needs.
• Ability to bridge communication between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups and initiatives within a complex organization.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to bring structure and clarity to evolving or initially undefined business needs.
• Familiarity with technologies and digital capabilities supporting pharmaceutical R&D and drug development is highly preferred.
