Business Analyst Next Best Action (NBA) / Decisioning Platform

The NBA Business Analyst will work closely with Bright Horizons business stakeholders, product owners, solution architects, data teams, FICO Blaze rule specialists, Azure engineering teams, QA, and downstream channel teams to define, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for the Next Best Action / Next Best Offer MVP implementation. Work with FICO Blaze and Azure teams to review rule inputs, decision responses, API contracts, event triggers, and downstream integration needs for channels such as myBH, MBD, BUC Mobile, and related activation touchpoints.

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a Business Analyst – Next Best Action (NBA) / Decisioning Platform for their Boston, MA/ Newton, MA/ Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Lead comprehensive business analysis activities that translate complex business challenges into clear requirements, enabling project teams to deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency and measurable business value.
• Drive end to end planning of initiatives by defining scope, objectives, milestones, and success metrics that support organizational strategy and ensure alignment between business expectations and delivery outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to gather, validate, and prioritize requirements, ensuring that diverse perspectives are integrated into actionable plans that improve processes and services.
• Develop detailed business process documentation and functional specifications that guide technology and operations teams, supporting accurate implementation and reducing rework and project delays.
• Analyze current workflows and operating models to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, recommending changes that simplify processes and strengthen overall performance.
• Create data driven insights and executive ready reports by synthesizing quantitative and qualitative information, helping decision makers understand trends, risks, and opportunities in a concise and actionable format.
• Support project governance by tracking progress against plans, managing requirement changes, and ensuring traceability between business needs, solution design, and final outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement review sessions, and solution walkthroughs with stakeholders, promoting shared understanding and reducing ambiguity in expectations and deliverables.
• Partner with technology teams to ensure solutions meet defined business requirements, participating in walkthroughs and providing clarifications that improve quality and user satisfaction.
• Coordinate and execute user acceptance validation activities by preparing scenarios, reviewing test outcomes, and confirming that delivered solutions meet business expectations and are ready for adoption.
• Champion continuous improvement by monitoring implemented solutions, capturing feedback, and proposing further enhancements that sustain long term value and customer satisfaction.
• Align business analysis and planning work with corporate purpose by focusing on initiatives that support sustainable growth, ethical practices, and positive impact on clients and communities.
• Guide junior and peer analysts by sharing knowledge of business analysis best practices, helping build a strong analytical culture that supports reliable decision making across the organization.
• The NBA Business Analyst will work closely with Bright Horizons business stakeholders, product owners, solution architects, data teams, FICO Blaze rule specialists, Azure engineering teams, QA, and downstream channel teams to define, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for the Next Best Action / Next Best Offer MVP implementation.
• The role will support the translation of business objectives into actionable decisioning requirements, rule logic, data needs, KPI baselines, UAT scenarios, and acceptance criteria required to deliver the MVP within the planned timeline.
• Partner with Bright Horizons business stakeholders to gather, refine, and document requirements for the NBA MVP use case focused on identifying Back-Up Care users with potential to transition into Full-Service Care customers.
• Facilitate requirement workshops, rule review sessions, playback discussions, and sign-off meetings with business, data, architecture, and technology stakeholders.
• Translate business objectives into business requirement documents, functional requirement documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and decisioning requirements.
• Support definition of NBA decision strategies, eligibility rules, prioritization logic, suppression rules, trigger conditions, channel activation requirements, and response handling expectations.
• Collaborate with data analysts and data engineering teams to identify required customer, behavioral, transactional, consent, preference, and eligibility data elements for the MVP.
• Validate data availability, data quality assumptions, source-to-target mapping, API input/output needs, and business interpretation of data attributes used by the decisioning engine.
• Work with FICO Blaze and Azure teams to review rule inputs, decision responses, API contracts, event triggers, and downstream integration needs for channels such as myBH, MBD, BUC Mobile, and related activation touchpoints.
• Define KPI baselines, measurement approach, control considerations, and success criteria for the MVP, including conversion, engagement, adoption, and business outcome metrics.
• Prepare and maintain UAT scenarios, test cases, persona-based validation scenarios, rule validation matrices, defect triage notes, and business sign-off documentation.
• Support sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, requirement clarifications, demo preparation, release readiness activities, and stakeholder communications throughout the MVP lifecycle.
• Key Deliverables:
• Business Requirement Document and Functional Requirement Document for the NBA MVP use case.
• User stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and decisioning requirement artifacts.
• Rule review notes, eligibility and suppression criteria, prioritization logic, and decision outcome documentation.
• Data requirement matrix, source data clarification notes, KPI baseline inputs, and metric definition documentation.
• UAT scenarios, test cases, persona-based validation inputs, defect triage summaries, and business sign-off support artifacts.

Requirements:

• Experience : 12to15Yrs
• Required Skills :Business Analysis & Planning
• 6+ years of Business Analyst experience, preferably in customer engagement, personalization, decisioning, marketing technology, CRM, digital experience, or data-driven transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of Next Best Action / Next Best Offer concepts, customer lifecycle engagement, personalization, segmentation, decision rules, eligibility criteria, prioritization, and channel orchestration.
• Experience working with business rules engines or decision management platforms such as FICO Blaze, Pega Customer Decision Hub, or similar decisioning tools is preferred.
• Ability to understand rule logic, decision flows, data variables, API request/response structures, and XML/JSON-based payloads at a business-analysis level.
• Working knowledge of Agile delivery, user story management, Jira/Azure DevOps, sprint planning, demos, backlog refinement, and UAT coordination.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, validate business assumptions, define KPIs, and collaborate with data teams on data readiness and quality questions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, structured, stakeholder-ready documentation and facilitate discussions across business and technology groups.
• Possess extensive experience in business analysis with the ability to interpret complex business environments, using structured techniques to capture requirements and translate them into practical recommendations.
• Demonstrate advanced planning skills through experience in defining scope, estimating effort, sequencing activities, and managing dependencies for multi stakeholder projects.
• Apply strong analytical and problem solving abilities, working with data and process models to reveal root causes, quantify impacts, and propose feasible solutions that are aligned with strategic goals.
• Show proficiency in creating clear documentation such as business requirement descriptions, process flows, and use case narratives that are easily understood by both business and technology teams.
• Bring familiarity with hybrid work practices and virtual collaboration tools, maintaining consistent communication and productivity across onsite and remote environments without travel requirements.
