Business Analyst (Life & Annuity / Policy Administration)

The ideal candidate will have experience gathering requirements, analyzing policy administration processes, working with business and technology teams, and using SQL for data analysis and validation. Analyze policy lifecycle processes including new business, issuance, servicing, premiums, withdrawals, loans, surrender, reinstatement, and policy changes.

Salary is 130k to 200k + bonus

We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong Life & Annuity insurance experience, specifically on the Policy Administration side. The ideal candidate will have experience gathering requirements, analyzing policy administration processes, working with business and technology teams, and using SQL for data analysis and validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and document business and functional requirements for Life & Annuity policy administration systems.

• Analyze policy lifecycle processes including new business, issuance, servicing, premiums, withdrawals, loans, surrender, reinstatement, and policy changes.

• Work with business stakeholders, developers, QA, and product teams to deliver system enhancements.

• Write and execute SQL queries for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and issue investigation.

• Perform data mapping and support system integrations and data conversion activities.

• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.

• Support SIT/UAT, defect analysis, and production issue resolution.

• Identify process gaps and recommend system/process improvements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience within Life Insurance and/or Annuities.

• Strong Policy Administration domain experience.

• Strong understanding of the Life & Annuity policy lifecycle.

• Hands-on SQL experience with joins, queries, filtering, aggregation, and data validation.

• Experience with requirements gathering, user stories, functional documentation, and testing.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments preferred.
