Senior AS400 RPG Developer / WMS Technical Analyst
Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid – 4days/ week onsite – 1 day/week remote)
Contract Duration: October 2026 to March 2028 (with strong possibility of an extension)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RPG IV development on the IBM i (AS400) platform, coupled with experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). This role is heavily focused on application support, enhancement development, troubleshooting, systems integration, and technical solution delivery within a mission-critical warehouse ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RPG IV development on the IBM i (AS400) platform, coupled with experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). This role is heavily focused on application support, enhancement development, troubleshooting, systems integration, and technical solution delivery within a mission-critical warehouse ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical SME for AS400-based warehouse management applications.
- Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements using RPG IV and CL.
- Analyze production issues and provide ongoing application support for warehouse systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, integration, and data issues.
- Support warehouse operations, inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution center processes.
- Develop technical specifications and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support integrations involving MQ Messaging, FTP, RF devices, printers, and related warehouse technologies.
- Participate in Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and UAT activities.
- Maintain AS400 databases, files, and transaction processing environments.
- Support Aldon Change Management processes and deployment activities.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and IT governance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and support for warehouse application enhancements and modernization efforts.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM i (AS400).
- Expert-level RPG IV/RPGLE development experience.
- Experience with CL Programming.
- Experience supporting and enhancing legacy AS400 applications.
- Strong understanding of AS400 database structures, files, and transaction processing.
- Experience working with AS400 Journals.
- Experience with MQ Messaging and FTP integrations.
- Experience using Aldon Change Management.
- Experience with DBU and related AS400 tools.
- Experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience in distribution center, inventory management, logistics, and order fulfillment environments.
- Experience supporting:
- RF handheld scanners
- Zebra printers
- Warehouse peripheral devices
- Experience with PKMS or comparable Warehouse Management Systems.
- Python scripting experience.
- Experience supporting warehouse modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of parts distribution and supply chain operations.
