    Job Summary

    The Business Analyst — Business Process Analysis is responsible for analyzing, documenting, and improving business processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and support organizational objectives. This position works with business stakeholders, subject-matter experts, technology teams, and project managers to understand current processes, identify gaps and opportunities, and develop practical solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze existing business processes, workflows, procedures, and operational activities.

    • Conduct current-state and future-state process assessments.

    • Document business processes using flowcharts, process maps, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

    • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, redundancies, and control issues.

    • Gather and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, meetings, observations, and surveys.

    • Work with stakeholders to understand business needs, objectives, pain points, and operational challenges.

    • Develop business requirements documents, functional requirements, process specifications, and use cases.

    • Translate business requirements into clear and actionable process and system requirements.

    • Analyze the impact of proposed process changes on people, systems, data, controls, and operations.

    • Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

    • Develop future-state process models and improvement plans.

    • Support business process redesign and transformation initiatives.

    • Identify opportunities for process automation and technology enablement.

    • Collaborate with IT, project management, operations, finance, and other functional teams to implement process improvements.

    • Develop process performance metrics and KPIs to measure improvement.

    • Analyze operational data to identify trends and support process improvement recommendations.

    • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and process-mapping sessions.

    • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by developing test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.

    • Assist with implementation, change management, training, and adoption activities.

    • Monitor implemented processes and evaluate whether expected improvements have been achieved.

    • Maintain process documentation and ensure updates are communicated to relevant stakeholders.

    • Identify and document business risks, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints.

    • Prepare presentations, reports, process diagrams, and recommendations for management.

    • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for standardization.

    • Ensure business processes comply with organizational policies, procedures, controls, and applicable requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Systems, Operations, Finance, or a related field.

    • 2–5 years of experience in business analysis, process analysis, operations, process improvement, or a related field.

    • Experience documenting and analyzing business processes and workflows.

    • Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder-interviewing skills.

    • Experience creating process maps, flowcharts, business requirements, and functional specifications.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and process documentation tools.

    • Experience with tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or other business analysis certification.

    • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, or continuous improvement methodologies.

    • Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall project environments.

    • Experience with process automation and digital transformation initiatives.

    • Knowledge of BPMN or other business process modeling standards.

    • Experience with ERP, CRM, workflow, or enterprise business applications.

    • Experience supporting software implementation projects.

    • Experience with data analysis and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
