If you are looking for a technology position in which you can have a real impact in strengthening the well-being of individuals, families, and communities, Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) may be the place for you! NCS is seeking a dynamic leader to join our Technology Services unit. Serves as the lead software system administrator for numerous applications, providing information security coordination, project research and support, and supervising technical staff.
This position works in a team-based environment and will actively be involved in all aspects of IT system administration. Responsibilities include investigating and coordinating system problems of the most complex nature, designing corrective procedures, interacting with Department of Information Technology (DIT) staff, other governmental or quasi-governmental entities, and vendors on system-related issues, and authorizing migration from development to production environment. Manages multiple IT projects in all phases of the system development lifecycle. Oversees use of a wide range of tools such as Power Platform, Nintex, Smartsheet, ArcGIS Online, Mobile Device Management consoles. Oversees development of user manuals, system documentation, governance documents and training manuals; Supervises and provides technical support and training to users of software and tools. Conducts research and provides input into department strategy to meet future information technology business needs, align resources necessary to support computer operations and systems development while ensuring integrity of department data, and authorize department user access and coordinates department compliance with federal, state, and local (including county IT Security policy) regulations. Participates on county-wide steering committees, coordinate efforts with all concerned parties and with the appropriate information technology staff, and perform related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Bachelors degree in business, computer science or a field related to the department where the IT services are being used: plus four years of experience analyzing business processes and/or developing/maintaining the main business system, technical platform or a related system.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and child protective services check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally sedentary in nature. However, incumbent may be required to do some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Sufficiently mobile to attend meetings at various locations and make presentations to county staff and community. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
