Location: Jeffersonville, IN or Lindon, UT

Duration: 12 Months

 

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically inclined Business Analyst to support a Restaurant Point-of-Sale (POS) platform that manages end-to-end restaurant operations across both hardware and software systems. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast or Clover is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Solution Design

  • Analyze business requirements and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Define system scope and objectives aligned with user needs, business goals, and industry standards.
  • Develop detailed functional and system specifications to support business requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend system improvements and operational procedures.
  • Configure system settings and options as needed.

Agile Delivery & Backlog Management

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering teams to break down epics into user stories.
  • Ensure user stories are outcome-driven and aligned with end-user value.
  • Own and manage the team backlog, including features, bugs, tasks, and technical debt.
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions and ensure proper sequencing of work.
  • Align story prioritization with release timelines and delivery goals.

Testing & Acceptance

  • Participate in integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Perform final acceptance of developed features against defined requirements.
  • Present completed features to Product Management for final validation.

Release Coordination & Documentation

  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to support release planning and execution.
  • Participate in release verification activities.
  • Manage feature flags, including documentation, rollout, and post-release cleanup.
  • Collaborate with Technical Writing to develop user guides and documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong experience with JIRA or other Atlassian tools and collaboration platforms such as Slack.
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve roadblocks.
  • Experience facilitating communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with POS systems or payment processing platforms.
  • Familiarity with both hardware and software environments.
  • Working knowledge of APIs and system integrations (no coding required).
  • Experience collaborating with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to define requirements.
  • Exposure to restaurant or hospitality technology platforms.
