    Description

Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful action? We are looking for a Business Analyst II who thrives on solving complex problems, building scalable analytics solutions, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive informed decision-making. In this role, you will analyze business processes, uncover opportunities through data, and deliver insights that shape strategy. You will work with stakeholders to define requirements, build reporting frameworks, and propose solutions that balance business value with level of effort. If you are curious, analytical, and energized by translating numbers into narratives that influence real outcomes, we want to hear from you.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Analyze large datasets using SQL and other analytical tools to identify trends, diagnose root causes, and generate actionable insights that inform business decisions across your team and partner teams.
    • Design, build, and maintain automated reporting systems and dashboards that provide visibility into business performance, highlight anomalies, and reveal new opportunities.
    • Partner with stakeholders across operations, product, and finance to understand business needs, define requirements, and deliver high-quality analytical solutions on time.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize business and data processes, determining when solutions should be repeatable versus one-time, and implement improvements that increase team efficiency and scalability.
    • Communicate findings clearly through written and verbal channels, tailoring insights to the audience - from detailed technical discussions with peers to concise summaries for leaders up to three levels above.

    A day in the life

You will start your day reviewing key metrics and monitoring dashboards to stay on top of business performance. From there, you might dive into a diagnostic analysis to understand a shift in a critical input metric, then join a working session with product or operations partners to scope out a new analytics request. You will regularly evaluate when to leverage generative AI tools to augment your productivity and when more specialized technical expertise is needed to drive a project to resolution.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
