Position Summary

The Business Analyst II manages efforts independently for formulating and defining scope and goals based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems, technology available, and industry requirements. The business analyst provides insights and suggests improvements to existing and new software applications. You will partner with the software development teams and perform detailed requirement analyses, documenting processes, planning and coordinating unit, integration, and acceptance tests. The business analyst enhances the quality of products and services, the ability to prepare and provide interpretation of data and data visualizations to inform our decisions, and finding technical solutions to our needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop procedures to solve complex business problems, considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and desired results.
  • Possess full technical knowledge of systems analysis and consider business implications of technology application.
  • Lead efforts to maintain written project documentation, including applications, best practices, processes, and logs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as test plans, user stories, use cases, and business process models.
  • Contribute to uncovering business goals and evaluating solutions.
  • Provide training for end-users and creates user-friendly procedures and documentation.
  • Conduct data analyses, data extracts, and ad-hoc reporting, and generates standard reports.
  • Collaborate with IT department staff to define requirements and maintain programs, databases, and reports.
  • Provide data stewardship and ensure data accuracy, conformity, and integrity.
  • Continually review and improve processes for greater efficiency.
  • Researches functional work requirements and recommends solutions for automating and enhancing business processes.
  • Participate in software development and testing, as well as troubleshooting system problems.
  • Create reports and dashboards using SQL or other reporting tools.
  • Coordinate data entry standards and provide technical support and training for end-users.
  • Help review, testing, and implementing system upgrades or patches.
  • Monitor databases for data accuracy and integrity and offer data integrity issue recommendations.
  • Mentor and provide training for fellow staff.
  • Facilitate or lead vendor relationships for operational software and technologies.
  • Initiate vendor support for technological solutions and applications.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related experience including systems implementation experience

OR

  • Associate's Degree and four (4) years of related experience including systems implementation experience

OR

  • PMI Professional Certification in Business Analysis (PBA) and one (1) year of related experience including systems implementation experience

OR

  • Other industry-recognized certifications directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position and six (6) years related experience including systems implementation experience.
