BUSINESS ANALYST I

- Internal payment and customer management systems (training provided)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- ERP and reporting tools (e.G., PeopleSoft or equivalent platforms)
- Structured onboarding including:
- Shadowing experienced team members
- Hands-on supervised practice
- Ongoing support via team collaboration tools
- Training duration typically 2–3 weeks, depending on learning pace
The Business Analyst I supports operational and financial processes within a high-volume, enterprise environment. This role is primarily focused on data entry and payment processing activities, requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.
The position involves repetitive, process-driven tasks and is best suited for individuals comfortable working independently within structured workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately post manual and electronic customer payments into internal systems
- Review and analyze customer payment information to determine the correct application
- Perform daily research on unapplied or unidentified payments
- Investigate discrepancies and reconcile payment errors on time
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of financial records and transaction data
- Support team members with similar payment research and data processing tasks
- Generate and maintain reports using internal systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned
- High-volume data entry within internal payment systems (CDM module)
- Reviewing customer accounts and applying payments appropriately
- Utilizing internal tools to research and validate financial transactions
- Performing repetitive tasks with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in a corporate or enterprise environment
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and focus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
- VLOOKUP
- Sorting and filtering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Experience in finance, accounts payable (AP), or accounts receivable (AR)
- Background in utilities, power, or electric companies
- Familiarity with ERP or financial systems (e.G., PeopleSoft or similar platforms)
- Stable work history demonstrating consistency and tenure in prior roles
