Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Analyst.

In this role, the successful candidate as the Business Analyst supports the ongoing health, optimization, and change management of financial systems and applications that enable ERP operations and user support. The role requires advanced data fluency and the ability to mine complex datasets; develop accurate queries, reports, and analytics; identify trends and anomalies; and translate findings into actionable business insights. The Business Analyst also documents business and application processes, develops clear requirements, evaluates proposed solutions and risks, and performs quality assurance testing and post-implementation validation. Working closely with Finance Technology colleagues, functional owners, stakeholders, and Medical Center Information Technology (MCIT), the role helps ensure that system and process changes meet business, operational, and user needs. Success requires strong analytical, communication, customer service, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver timely, effective solutions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support assigned projects and initiatives by completing business analysis deliverables, coordinating activities, tracking action items, and meeting established timelines.
• Document current- and future-state business and application processes,including integrations,dependencies, controls, and potential impacts.
• Lead meetings andpresentations for assigned initiatives; prepare agendas and meeting materials, document decisions andaction items, and coordinate timely follow-up.
• Participate in cross-training and collaborative data analysis to strengthen team knowledge, coverage, and continuity.
• Develop, maintain, and evaluate business process and application documentation throughout the change management lifecycle, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) for proposed customizations, implementations, and integrations.
• Collaborate with MCIT analysts and developers to ensure technical designs and system builds meet approved business and functional requirements.
• Develop effective, risk-based test plans that identify appropriatebusinessprocesses, data,scenarios, expected results, and critical testingcriteria.
• Document business process and application risks and assess the potential operational impact of proposed process and system changes.
• Manage enhancement, defect, and service requests across assigned portfolios in collaboration with team members. Maintain accurate information in the change management reporting tool, monitor request progress, and support timely and effective resolution.
• Analyze relevant data to determine the scope, severity, and business impact of reported defects and to identify data changes required for service requests before tickets are submitted to MCIT.
• Perform recurring and ad hoc reporting and analytical work to support operational decisions, project delivery, and post-implementation monitoring, as applicable.
• Research, classify, validate, and analyze large datasets to resolve business problems, identify trends, and communicate actionable findings.
• Develop, test, validate, anddocument queries forassignedprojects andteaminitiatives to ensure results are accurate, reliable, and appropriate for their intended use.
• Serve as a data subject matter expert (SME), providing team members with analytical guidance and data support for projects and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration or Management. Education experience with respect to computer applications and or computer science is a plus, but not required.
A minimum of 2 years of work experience in business process analysis, financial or data analysis or related tasks. The candidate must have analytical and computer skills to support the analysis, documentation and recommendations for improvements of processes across the finance enterprise. The Business Analyst should have solid communication skills that enable the individual to perform interviews with individuals, gather and interpret information as well as convey messages and findings concisely to relevant parties throughout the organization. The individual must be detail oriented and able to work independently and within a team on multiple projects simultaneously. Other minimum qualifications include intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel, Word and Visio. Experience with PeopleSoft Query and Alteryx/Tableau is desired, but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include experience with financial reporting, purchasing and payables, audit, compliance, and end-user training. Demonstrated professionalism, responsiveness, respect, and a strong customer service orientation are also preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $70,481.60 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
