Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Business Analyst/Data Analyst with fixed income portfolio management and Asset Management or Financial Services experience. This is a HYBRID contract opportunity with a financial services client in New Jersey, New York, or Chicago. Our client is seeking a senior Business Analyst to translate investment requirements into business rules, data specifications, and functional requirements supporting fixed income portfolio management.

Must Have skills

8+ years of Business Analyst experience in Financial Data Analytics
Strong SQL and data-analysis skills.
Ability to translate investment requirements into functional specifications, data mappings, and user stories.
Experience developing test scenarios, UAT, and investigating data and calculation discrepancies.
Experience working directly with Portfolio Managers or investment teams.
Experience defining and validating financial attributes, calculations, and business rules at the security and portfolio levels.
Strong understanding of portfolio, holdings, security master, benchmark, and market/reference data.
Strong understanding of Fixed Income Portfolio Management and portfolio analytics.

Nice to Have skills

Municipal Bonds domain knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

Gather, document, and validate requirements from Portfolio Managers and investment teams.
Define security and portfolio-level attributes, calculations, and business rules.
Identify and document investment data required for portfolio analysis and decision-making.
Support fixed income analytics, including yield, duration, spread, ratings, portfolio weights, sector/state exposure, and benchmark characteristics.
Translate portfolio-management requirements into functional specifications, data mappings, and user stories.
Analyze and validate investment data using SQL.
Collaborate with investment, product, data, and technology teams.
Payrate range 55-70 experience dependent
