Title: Business Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to serve as a product-minded delivery leader for our enterprise healthcare applications. Acting as a proxy Product Owner and Scrum champion, this role owns the product backlog, translates business strategy into actionable requirements, and drives Agile delivery from concept through release. The position is the primary connection point between business stakeholders, executive leadership, engineering, and vendors.
The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership instincts with deep business analysis and Scrum expertise. They can independently manage priorities, tell a compelling data-driven story to stakeholders, and guide a delivery team to ship high-quality solutions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Ownership & Strategy
- Own, prioritize, and continuously refine the product backlog to maximize business value and align delivery with organizational strategy and roadmaps.
- Serve as a proxy Product Owner, making day-to-day scope and prioritization decisions and representing the voice of the customer to the delivery team.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps, release plans, and feature prioritization based on stakeholder input, business value, cost, and risk.
- Manage stakeholder expectations around platform stability, predictability, timelines, and major changes.
Requirements Analysis & Solution Design- Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements through workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, process maps, and data mappings.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to define functional designs, integrations, and API requirements.
- Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for automation, workflow improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain traceable documentation of requirements, decisions, and process improvements across the SDLC.
Agile Delivery & Scrum Leadership- Champion Lean-Agile principles and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Serve as Scrum Master by facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Manage sprint execution, ensure sprint goals are met, and drive continuous improvement of delivery practices.
- Collaborate with developers to clarify requirements, validate technical designs, and ensure delivered solutions meet business needs.
- Participate in release management activities, coordinating sprint deliverables, supporting change management, and validating that releases align with documented requirements.
- Govern work intake, prioritization, and tracking in Azure DevOps Boards (epics, features, PBIs).
- Support incident, change, and release management activities, ensuring releases align with documented requirements.
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, executive leadership, engineering, and external vendors.
- Communicate status, risks, dependencies, and decisions clearly through executive-friendly updates and presentations.
- Facilitate cross-team coordination, alignment meetings, and recurring syncs to keep initiatives on track.
- Build trusted relationships and manage competing priorities across multiple products and teams.
Testing & Quality Assurance- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing of web and mobile (iOS and Android) applications.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating business validation, documenting issues, and verifying defect resolution.
- Test and retest software fixes across multiple environments to confirm defect resolution and application stability.
- Coordinate pre-release regression testing with the QA team to ensure deployment readiness.
- Document testing results, track defects through resolution, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and release quality.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and QA automation tools is a plus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Demonstrated product ownership ability—backlog management, prioritization, roadmap planning, and value-based decision making.
- Strong command of Scrum and Lean-Agile methodologies; experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and serving as Scrum Master.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-analysis skills with attention to detail.
- Understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data flows.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and products in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–8 years as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst/Owner, or similar role supporting enterprise software delivery.
- Experience as a Product Owner/proxy PO and/or Scrum Master strongly preferred.
- Agile certification (CSPO, PSPO, CSM, PSM) or SAFe certification preferred.
- Experience supporting healthcare or clinical applications strongly preferred; exposure to HIPAA/compliance a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work performed in an office and/or home office environment; prolonged sitting and use of standard office equipment.
- Normal range of hearing and eyesight to prepare and communicate reports and evaluations.
- Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
- Frequent contact with professional staff and executive-level stakeholders; work may be stressful and interaction frequent.
