About the Opportunity:
GSG is seeking a Business Analyst with strong Mortgage and/or Consumer Lending experience to support a strategic consumer lending platform initiative within a leading financial services organization.
The consultant will work closely with business and technology teams to support the design, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of a strategic consumer lending platform. The ideal candidate will bring strong lending domain knowledge, business analysis expertise, and the ability to translate complex business processes into clear requirements and solutions.
Candidates may bring different areas of specialization, including lending operations, process/workflow analysis, data mapping, user experience, documentation, or project management.
Responsibilities:
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand lending processes, business needs, and objectives.
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into clear functional requirements and user stories.
Analyze current-state and future-state Mortgage and Consumer Lending processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop and document process flows, workflows, requirements, and other project deliverables.
Support the design, deployment, and enhancement of a strategic consumer lending platform.
Analyze how loans move through the lending lifecycle and identify process dependencies, gaps, and opportunities.
Collaborate with lending operations, product, technology, project management, and other business stakeholders.
Participate in workshops, discovery sessions, requirements meetings, and stakeholder discussions.
Support testing, validation, implementation, and issue resolution activities.
Communicate complex business and process requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and adapt communication style to different levels of the organization.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
8+ years of Business Analysis experience within financial services.
Strong Mortgage and/or Consumer Lending experience.
Strong understanding of the end-to-end lending lifecycle and how a loan moves through the lending process.
Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
Experience analyzing and documenting business processes, workflows, and procedures.
Experience supporting technology initiatives, platform implementations, or business transformation efforts.
Experience working with cross-functional business, technology, product, and/or operations teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and adjust communication style across different levels of an organization.
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Data mapping and data requirements
Lending operations and workflow analysis
User experience, customer journeys, or user flows
Lending documentation, disclosures, or customer communications
Project Management and/or Agile delivery
