    Position Summary

    Capitol Management Consulting Services (CMCS) is seeking a Business Analyst to support reporting, documentation, and back-office operations for U.S. federal agency clients, including HUD, FDIC, and a growing portfolio of civilian agencies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can organize information, produce accurate reports, and keep recurring administrative and operational work on track.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and maintain recurring operational, program, and management reports.
    • Collect, organize, and validate information from multiple sources.
    • Track action items, deliverables, deadlines, and supporting documentation.
    • Create spreadsheets, status summaries, dashboards, and briefing materials.
    • Follow up with program and technical teams to resolve missing or inconsistent information.
    • Document routine business processes and support administrative workflows.
    • Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready records.
    • Identify reporting gaps and recommend practical process improvements.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, reporting, program operations, or a related role.
    • At least 1-2 years supporting federal government clients or working in a similarly regulated environment.
    • Experience compiling, validating, and presenting data in clear reports.
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI is helpful.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, written communication, and follow-through.
    • Ability to manage recurring deadlines and work independently on well-defined assignments.
    • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain a background investigation required to obtain a Public Trust.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting HUD, FDIC, or another civilian federal agency.
    • Experience in government contracting, consulting, or professional services.
    • Familiarity with federal reporting and documentation requirements.
    • SQL or other data-validation experience.
    • Professional certification such as ECBA, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or PMP.
