    Job Description

    Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Non-Human Identity (NHI) Validation Engineer responsible for validating the implementation, security, governance, and compliance of non-human identities across enterprise platforms. The role ensures that service accounts, application identities, workload identities, API keys, certificates, and secrets comply with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements throughout their lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities
    Non-Human Identity Validation
    • Validate the onboarding, modification, and decommissioning of non-human identities.
    • Verify ownership, business justification, and approval workflows for machine identities.
    • Ensure service accounts comply with enterprise security standards.
    • Identify orphaned, dormant, or duplicate non-human identities.

    Security Controls Validation
    • Validate least-privilege access for service accounts and application identities.
    • Verify authentication methods, credential management, and privileged access controls.
    • Ensure proper implementation of MFA exemptions, where applicable, according to policy.
    • Validate segregation of duties (SoD) and access governance controls.

    Secrets and Credential Validation
    • Verify that secrets, API keys, certificates, and passwords are securely stored.
    • Validate automated credential rotation and expiration policies.
    • Ensure applications retrieve secrets from approved enterprise vault solutions.
    • Verify certificate lifecycle management and renewal processes.

    Cloud & Platform Validation
    Validate non-human identities across:
    • AWS IAM Roles and IAM Anywhere
    • Azure Managed Identities
    • Google Cloud Service Accounts
    • Kubernetes Service Accounts
    • Docker containers
    • CI/CD pipeline
    • Serverless workloads



    Compliance Validation
    • Perform validation against SOX, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and internal security standards.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing validation evidence.
    • Review policy exceptions and validate remediation activities.

    Testing & Reporting
    • Execute validation test plans and document findings.
    • Perform control effectiveness testing.
    • Generate compliance dashboards and validation reports.
    • Track validation issues through closure.

    Automation
    • Develop automated validation scripts using Python, PowerShell, SQL, or REST APIs.
    • Automate evidence collection and compliance reporting.
    • Improve validation efficiency through scripting and workflow automation.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in IAM, Cybersecurity, Audit, Risk, or Security Validation.
    • Experience validating enterprise IAM or NHI implementations.
    • Strong analytical and documentation skills.

    • HashiCorp Vault Associate
    • Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM)

    • Accurate validation of non-human identity lifecycle controls.
    • Timely completion of validation and compliance reviews.
    • Reduction in orphaned and non-compliant service accounts.
    • Successful audit outcomes with minimal findings.
    • Increased automation of validation and reporting processes.
    • Improved visibility into non-human identity security posture.



    This version emphasizes validation, testing, audit readiness, compliance, and control effectiveness rather than implementation, making it well suited for a Quality Assurance, Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC), or Security Validation function.
