Position OverviewFusion HCR is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to serve as a key connection point between business stakeholders and technology teams. This position will gather and analyze business needs, define requirements, support solution design, and help deliver effective technology and process improvements.The Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, developers, technical teams, and Agile delivery teams throughout the solution lifecycle—from discovery and requirements definition through testing, implementation, deployment, and ongoing application support. The role will also support process improvement, issue resolution, user acceptance testing, system enhancements, and cross-functional initiatives.The successful candidate will combine strong business judgment with technical aptitude, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, and take ownership of issues through resolution.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with business users to understand operational challenges, identify opportunities, and define desired outcomes.
- Lead discovery sessions and translate business needs into requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Analyze business processes and recommend technology or process improvements aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with developers, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure solutions address identified needs.
- Create process models, workflow descriptions, functional documentation, system guides, and knowledge articles.
- Review proposed solutions for alignment with business processes, requirements, and expected functionality.
- Investigate application and process issues through structured root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop test scenarios, scripts, and acceptance criteria; coordinate user acceptance testing and support users throughout testing.
- Support implementations, enhancements, system changes, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
- Serve as a Product Owner or business representative within an Agile/Scrum environment when assigned.
- Coordinate priorities, deliverables, and dependencies across initiatives and teams.
- Present project updates, solution concepts, findings, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced business analysts or team members.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, IT applications, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements.
- Hands-on experience working with Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
- Ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis experience.
- Experience supporting software implementations, system enhancements, testing, and application deployments.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills across technical and business audiences.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate work across multiple projects.
- Strong understanding of business intelligence concepts and how data and reporting support business decisions.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn applications, tools, and processes quickly.
- Experience with Agile practices, Jira or similar tools, and complex enterprise applications.
- Experience serving as a Product Owner or holding relevant Scrum or business analysis certifications.
