ASSYST is seeking a Business Analyst to support current projects, priorities, and development initiatives in Austin, Texas (Hybrid role)

The primary focus of this role is gathering and converting requirements into themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria while analyzing existing business process documentation to enhance agency efficiency, compliance with statutes, and service delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Facilitate discussions to gather themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria adhering strictly to Agency standards.  
  • Jira & Backlog Management: Convert existing use cases into actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria in Jira.  
  • Process Analysis & Enhancement: Analyze existing business process documentation and mapping to identify opportunities for enhancing operational effectiveness and efficiency.  
  • Estimation Support: Facilitate development and quality assurance discussions to gather story points for a predictive level-of-effort model.  
  • Project & Implementation Support: Directly support project teams, development teams, and various initiatives to improve agency compliance and overall effectiveness. 

Requirements:

  • Required Minimum Qualifications:4+ Years: Experience as a senior-level Business Analyst focusing on technical or emerging technology fields.  
  • 4+ Years: Basic working knowledge and experience with Agile project management methodologies and practices.    

Preferred Qualifications:1+ Year:

  • Experience understanding and documenting formal use cases.  
  • 1+ Year: Experience with process documentation and mapping.
