Job Title

  • Business Analyst – ADMS/OMS

Principal Duties

  • Provide functional and technical expertise in various aspects of ADMS/OMS implementations, including:
    • System design
    • Documentation
    • Complex utility workflow design and improvement
    • Trouble ticket generation
    • Crew dispatch
  • Lead discussions on system requirements related to:
    • Electric distribution grids
    • Storm restoration processes
    • Regulatory reporting requirements
  • Support engagements for electric utilities involving:
    • OT system planning
    • Implementation
    • Testing
    • Operations
  • Work with OT systems including:
    • SCADA
    • ADMS
    • OMS
    • GIS
    • AMI
  • Support integration of OMS with:
    • SCADA
    • GIS
    • AMI/Smart Meters
    • CRM platforms
  • Support business requirements definition.
  • Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP) development and vendor evaluation.
  • Support:
    • Proposal evaluation
    • Vendor selection
    • Statement of Work (SOW) development
    • Vendor contract negotiation
  • Support solution:
    • Design
    • Documentation
    • Planning
    • Implementation
    • Vendor management
    • Testing
    • Acceptance
  • Support evaluation of potential new vendor partners.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key vendors.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with GEV ADMS & OMS preferred.
  • Experience with other OEM OMS platforms is also acceptable, including:
    • ABB
    • Oracle NMS
    • Schneider
    • Siemens
  • Strong understanding of OMS functionalities, including:
    • Outage workflows
    • Crew management
    • Mobile applications
    • Outage reporting
    • Outage maps
  • Map and optimize workflows for:
    • Outage identification
    • Restoration prioritization
    • Customer communication
    • IVR/SMS notifications
  • Utilize SQL and reporting/BI tools such as:
    • Tableau
    • Power BI
  • Analyze outage data and calculate:
    • Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR)
    • Restoration times
    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • GIS
    • Smallworld
    • ESRI
    • Smart AMI metering
  • Utilize utility industry experience to engage with client utilities and understand their:
    • Applications
    • Approaches
    • Methodologies
    • Electric Distribution Operational Systems
  • Knowledge of ADMS functionalities, including:
    • Fault Management
    • FLISR/FDIR
    • Feeder Reconfiguration
    • Load Shedding
    • Voltage/VAR Control
    • Distribution Load Flow
  • Experience working with Electric Utilities and/or Consulting Entities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IT/OT and security standards, including:
    • NERC CIP
  • Working knowledge of current standards and regulations governing power systems.

Industry Knowledge & Capabilities

  • Strong understanding of electric utility distribution planning, engineering, and operations.
  • Understanding of:
    • Electricity transmission and distribution
    • Outage management
    • Crew management
    • Mobile applications
    • Associated operational controls
  • Apply specialized utility system design and planning knowledge to develop moderately complex work products and solutions.
  • Support engagements across multiple phases of complex projects.
  • Assess the effectiveness of client tools, applications, and processes.
  • Support adoption of new OT applications and solutions, including:
    • ADMS
    • OMS
    • SCADA
  • Apply appropriate methodologies or recognized equivalents to identified client needs.
  • Anticipate and resolve technical problems with occasional technical assistance from others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Similar technical discipline
  • At least 10 years of experience in:
    • Business consulting
    • Technical consulting
    • Engagement implementation services
    • Utility OT systems
    • ADMS/OMS vendor environments
  • At least 5–7 years of experience working with:
    • Electricity OT systems
    • ADMS
    • OMS
  • At least 5+ years of experience in utility industry Business Analyst roles.
