Bus Student Health Paraprofessional JobID: 3991 Position Type: Support Staff - AssistantsDate Posted: 9/21/2026Location: Transportation DepartmentDate Available: ASAP Additional Information: Show/HideSummary:The Bus Student Health Paraprofessional will assist in the safe transportation of special education students to ensure a safe and hazard free environment for all students.Responsibilities:Provide a safe and comfortable environment for students who ride the bus.Monitor and assist students with special needs until released to a teacher, designated school employee, or parent/guardian.Ensure that students are seated before the vehicle is in motion. Assist students in refastening seat belts as necessary.Observe student behavior and take positive action in correcting behavioral problems.Monitor and assist the student with medical needs, including implementing the health plan, transporting emergency medications, administering emergency medication if needed, and managing the student's service animal.Assist in bus emergency evacuation.Assist in the proper securement of wheelchairs.Assist in proper passenger restraint securement.Perform other related duties as required.Qualifications:BA or Associates degree in Educational Assistant and teacher certification preferred; related work experience preferred.Must have communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.Prior experience working with children.CPR and First Aid training is preferred, but not required. The district can provide this training if the applicant does not have it.Ability to lift 45 pounds.Willing to work split hours for AM and PM routesSchedule:School YearUp to 5 hours per day/5 days a week Compensation:Level 1 - $14.31 - $16.76 per hourLevel 2 - $15.74 - $18.42 per hour for certified teacherNew PositionOnce the posting deadline date has been met (if applicable), the supervisor/principal will review applications and schedule interviews with the most qualified candidates.
