As a CCISD employee, you will have a primary purpose to: Ensure safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned route Operate school bus that transports students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated locations Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD. Qualifications Education Certification Licensure Valid Texas Commercial drivers license with passenger and school bus endorsement If you do not have the proper drivers license, please apply for Bus safety training Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate effectively Knowledge of student discipline procedure Ability to manage student behavior Ability to operate bus Possess a good driving record Ability to evacuate students in the event of an accident or emergency Experience None specified Major Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for the safe transportation of students to and from school Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for the operation of school buses Reports to work at scheduled work time and follows District and department attendance policies and procedures Ensure all paperwork, including route folders, are correct and up to date Follow the assigned route and adhere to established schedules for necessary record keeping functions in conjunction with local and state reporting Responsible for preventive care of their assigned bus Keep assigned bus clean and fueled Properly and safely use tools, chemicals, and equipment Comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) to assure student behavior and records are confidential Maintain appropriate student management environment and report student incidents to appropriate administrators Perform and provide an accurate and timely student count as required by TEA Identify by name all students who ride the bus Maintain up-to-date seating charts for all student riders and submit updated copies to supervisor Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after each run and submit work orders for needed repairs Observe all loading/unloading laws and regulations Demonstrate bus evacuation to students on bus Be able to evacuate the bus from emergency exit safely and in a timely manner Physically access and operate all emergency equipment and emergency exits, including front, rear, and side emergency doors, roof hatches, and emergency windows Special Education drivers must ensure that the proper safety equipment (e.g. tie-downs, seat belts, besi seats, wheelchairs, etc.) are onboard in proper working condition and utilized based on students needs Must adhere to student IEP transportation requirements Follow the established CCISD accident procedures and protocols, accurately completing all necessary reporting, both verbally and written, of vehicle damage, student injuries, and mechanical failures Communicate with schools, students, and community in such a manner as to encourage cooperation and respect Maintain proper and appropriate radio communication Exhibit CCISD Core Values of emergency Days in Contract 183 scheduled workdays, year-round pay Hours per day: 6.5 hours guaranteed per day Hours per week: 32.5 hours guaranteed per week Extra shifts available, including mid-day
