- Background checks are generally $60.
- A Substitute Teaching license or Educational Aide permit from
the Ohio Department of Education costs $25 per year.
- Do I need a teaching license or educational aide permit?
- A substitute teaching license is necessary to substitute
teach.
- Substitutes only working as sub aides/parapros need an
Educational Aide permit.
- Where can I get a background check?
- We recommend having background checks completed at
Hamilton County ESC (513.674.4200) or
Clermont County ESC (513.735.8300).
- Can I use my previous background check?
- Most likely, if it was completed during the previous 12 months
and you have a printed copy of the results.
- Will I be expected to work in multiple schools and districts?
- Substitutes choose which schools and districts to work in.
- Will I be expected to work every day?
- Substitutes can work as often or as little as they choose.
- Will I receive any training
- Yes, we provide an orientation session as well as ongoing
training opportunities.
