Summary

Provides maintenance and operating services for County buildings through preventive maintenance, repair and event set up and emergency management system operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains the building systems for safe and comfortable operation.
  • Repairs and maintains HVAC systems and associated equipment.
  • Maintains and assists with plumbing repairs and assist with other associated building repairs.
  • Works with vendors and contractors. May oversee work and ensure that it is properly performed.
  • Provides other general building maintenance services.
  • Helps move furniture as needed.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years general maintenance and specialized experience in HVAC, plumbing or electrical.
  • Supervisory and training experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of A/C, plumbing, electrical and operation of chill water systems and boiler system.
  • Must have knowledge of building operating systems with expertise in one area.
  • Valid and current TX drivers license required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to lift, carry, climb, stoop, walk, stand, sit, work indoors/outdoors with loud equipment, push, and pull. May be exposed to communicable diseases, various parasites, dangerous chemicals and electrical hazards. This position may require overtime, rotating shifts nights, evenings, weekends and holiday work. Candidates must have the ability to pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment.
