    Custodian - Building Services

    Position Summary

    The Building Services Crew Member position is responsible for custodial duties, cleaning, and maintaining the appearance of all Peace Center facilities to ensure they remain patron-ready under the direction of the Director of Building Services and the Building Services Shift Supervisor as part of a Building Services team.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Clean all surfaces to standards set by the Building Services department. Tasks include, but are not limited to: vacuuming, glass cleaning, dusting, carpet extraction, damp mopping, restroom cleaning, etc.
    • Setup and strike furniture for facility events.
    • Maintain interior areas and exterior surfaces in all seasons.
    • Complete all assigned tasks within a reasonable time frame as determined by the Building Services Manager.
    • Follow the standard operating procedures of the Building Services Department and as well as policies and procedures of The Peace Center.
    • Follow all safety guidelines and processes and report any unsafe working conditions immediately to a member of management.
    • Additional duties as assigned and deemed necessary to the position

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • At least one (1) year of housekeeping/custodial experience in a facility environment preferred.
    • Working knowledge of various cleaning equipment and materials preferred.
    • Works well independently and in a group setting, a true team player.
    • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks thoroughly and in a timely manner.
    • Positive attitude and sense of pride in quality of work.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned.
    • Adhering to Employee Handbook and Policy & Procedures set forth by The Peace Center for the Performing Arts.
