    Position Specific Description

    Recruitment Number 26-090JC, Building Maintenance Worker II (DL), WS-09*, Honolulu, Oahu.

    Note: This position requires a current and valid drivers license to operate a motor vehicle.

    • Salary rate effective July 1, 2026.

    Summary of Duties

    Supervises and performs a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work in the upkeep of buildings and structures, and equipment housed therein; and performs other related duties as required.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements

    Experience Requirement: Six (6) years of work experience which involved the performance of a variety of building maintenance repair work; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Two (2) years of the required experience must have been at the journey level (fully competent worker).

    Non-Qualifying Experience: Experience as a janitor, groundskeeper, laborer, or other related work which is not involved in performing a variety of building, structure, and equipment repairs on a regular, ongoing basis is not considered qualifying experience.

    Selective Certification Requirement - Drivers License: Due to the driving duties of the position, applicants must possess a valid and unexpired drivers license to operate a motor vehicle.

    a. Has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility or other institution;

    b. Has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse;

    c. Has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in b above; or

    d. Has been the subject of substantiated allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment, or resigned during a pending investigation of alleged sexual abuse or sexual harassment.
