Job Title - Building Maintenance Worker 1 - Skilled Laborer / Metal Shelving Installation
Location - Nashville, TN
Work Arrangement - 100% Onsite
Contract Duration 3- 5 Days
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled laborer with a strong assembly/carpentry skillset for a short-term 3 5 day project. The candidate will be responsible for de-installing existing metal shelving units, safely transferring shelf contents, assembling and installing new metal shelving, and accurately restocking the units upon completion.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, follow instructions carefully, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and remain productive throughout the assignment to meet project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
This is a short-term 3 5 day assignment. Candidates must have their own required tools, be able to assemble and install metal shelving, follow directions, and commit to the assignment timeframe.

Position Overview

The candidate will be responsible for de-installing existing metal shelving units, safely transferring shelf contents, assembling and installing new metal shelving, and accurately restocking the units upon completion.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, follow instructions carefully, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and remain productive throughout the assignment to meet project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully dismantle approximately 25 units of existing metal shelving and prepare the work area.
- Safely move, organize, and temporarily store items from the existing shelves.
- Accurately replace and organize shelf contents on the newly installed shelving units.
- Assemble and erect new metal shelving units according to exact specifications.
- Ensure shelving units are properly aligned, structurally secure, and safe for use.
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision to meet project timelines.
- Follow instructions and maintain attention to detail throughout the project.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Stay actively engaged and productive throughout the assigned shift.
- Hands-on experience in skilled labor, assembly, or rough carpentry.
- Experience assembling and installing metal shelving or similar structures.
- Ability to safely dismantle and assemble shelving units.
- Proficient use of basic hand and power tools.
- Must provide and bring their own basic hand/power tools necessary for metal shelving assembly and teardown, including:
- Impact driver
- Sockets
- Wrenches
- Level
- Tape measure
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when assembling and aligning shelving units.
- Strong work ethic and ability to remain focused and productive throughout the shift.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to safely handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to commit to the full 3 5 day assignment and meet all project requirements.
- Rough carpentry experience
- General construction or skilled labor experience
- Metal shelving assembly and installation experience
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work efficiently within a short project timeline
