Description

We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our hospice facilities safe, clean, functional, and welcoming. This role focuses on general building maintenance, including painting, minor plumbing repairs, furniture repairs, carpentry projects, preventative maintenance, and responding to day-to-day facility needs.

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm with rotating on-call coverage.

Daily Responsibilities

Paint, patch, and repair walls, ceilings, doors, and other building surfaces.
Perform basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, unclogging drains, and repairing fixtures.
Repair and maintain furniture including recliners, sofas, beds, and office equipment.
Complete general carpentry and maintenance projects.
Replace lighting, ceiling tiles, hardware, and fixtures.
Conduct preventative maintenance throughout facilities and grounds.
Respond to maintenance requests from staff and departments.
Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
Coordinate repairs with outside vendors when specialized work is needed.
Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent maintenance needs.

What You Bring

High school diploma or equivalent.
Active NC Drivers License
Experience in general building maintenance, handyman services, construction, facilities maintenance, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or a related field preferred.
Maintenance experience in a medical, hospice, or other regulated facility preferred.
Experience with oxygen systems, generators, and sewage pumping systems preferred.
Completion of a skilled trade apprenticeship or technical training program preferred.
Strong troubleshooting abilities, including coordinating warranty issues with vendors and internal staff.
Sensory abilities sufficient to meet communication and documentation requirements.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
Ability to safely climb and use ladders.
