Building Interventionist and Substitute Teacher (Grades K-6)

The Mission

PODER Academy Schools are innovative college-prep schools focused on proficiency. Student scores in the core subjects exceed national and state averages.

Position Summary

PODER Academy is a small-school environment where teachers track individual students and tailor instruction accordingly. There is a heavy focus on classroom management where behavior disruptions are minimized. Seeking creative minds who enjoy working with a variety of subjects and grade levels.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in secondary education (any discipline)
• Able to pass a background check
• Experience working with 7th-12th grade and/or experience working with diverse students is a plus (not required)
• Multiple Certifications/Endorsements is a plus (not required)
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus (not required)

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and deliver instruction
• Provide small group and individual instruction
• Provide weekly lesson plans to the Principal
• Collaborate with team members to develop innovative instruction techniques
