General Responsibility

Under limited supervision, perform custodial duties including the operation of equipment. Coordinate and execute custodial duties in assigned areas of responsibility. Ensure that assigned facilities areas remain in a state of cleanliness consistent with agency standards.

Specific Duties

  • Perform custodial duties to maintain SLED facilities to ensure that employees have a safe and secure working environment.
  • Ensure re-stocking of supplies in all SLED facilities. Ensure all custodial equipment is operating correctly and notify supervisor of any deficiencies and/or any required corrective action or repairs.
  • Perform light maintenance/repairs as needed.
  • Supervise outside vendors at SLED facilities and when in security sensitive areas, as required.
  • Ensure that all required safety/preventative maintenance activities are performed properly and in a timely manner.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must have three (3) years of professional experience in commercial property maintenance, custodial operations, and/or construction.
  • Must have the skills and the ability to operate custodial equipment and practice good housekeeping procedures.
  • Must be able to manage inventory of custodial supplies including paper products and cleaning supplies.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with agency personnel in a positive and productive manner.
  • Must be able lift items up to 50 pounds (lbs).
  • This position may require work hours other than normal business operating hours and some weekends.
