POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Building Services Supervisor serve as Building Services Associate for the Community Association Management (CAM) at Sun City Huntley. Responsibilities include room meeting set-up duties, including audio and video equipment set-ups and operation. The position may require first and second shift rotation to include some weekends and holidays in order to meet the expectation of the Maintenance Department. Able to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision. Work effectively to keep the facilities functioning properly, safely. Ensure that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled within the goals and objectives of the Maintenance Department, to include requests made through the facilities department.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set-up and breakdown of daily events for Community Association Management and other sponsored functions.
  • Assist other team members regarding setup duties, cleaning and building coverage areas as assigned, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Assist as needed to ensure all functions and events have the proper coverage needed to handle all the necessary duties; flexible to cover Associates time off as needed.
  • Assist with seasonal outdoor swimming pool operations.
  • Provide communication to the Building Services Supervisor regarding building and equipment concerns.
  • Assist other Maintenance Departments when and where needed.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE/TRAINING:

Experience/Education:

  • High school graduate or its equivalency
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Prior Audio/Visual experience, Janitorial experience and/or Event Setup experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license, be insurable and transport oneself around the community

Special Requirements/Knowledge/Training:

  • Accountable for the building service duties including staff and resident safety
  • Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, delays and staff re-assignments. For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns that can affect the entire team and residents.
  • Must be able to complete tasks and assignments with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals from various backgrounds
  • Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment that may be stressful due to adversarial situations.
  • Knowledge of proper safety techniques when moving furniture
  • Knowledge of chemicals used for cleaning various surfaces and operation of cleaning tools and machines for cleaning surfaces
  • Capable of working extended hours, to include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical ability to remain on foot throughout shifts and exert sufficient force to move objects horizontally and vertically in most cases using upper extremities, lower extremities and back muscles. Objects can weigh up to 100 lbs.
  • Position alternates between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting, to an outdoor setting with variable climate and lighting.
  • Ability to make discriminations in sound perceiving their nature with no less that 40 DB loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and with the written word in the English language.

What We Offer:

As a full-time non-exempt associate, you will be eligible for full comprehensive benefits to include your choice of multiple medical plans, dental, and Vision. In addition, you will be eligible for time off benefits, paid holidays, and a 401k with company match. Occasional travel may be required to attend training and other company functions.

Compensation: $16 per hour
