    Convergentz, a division of the Hunton Group, has an exciting opportunity for a Building Automation System (BAS) Controls Installer to join our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you'll install, diagnose, and repair environmental comfort systems using your knowledge of HVAC theory, hydronics, and modern building automation technologies.     What You'll Do

    • Install and service BAS controls and related equipment on assigned projects, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction

    • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specs, and wiring diagrams to perform accurate installations and diagnostics

    • Use hand tools, testing instruments, and laptops to program and troubleshoot systems

    • Coordinate on-site work by reviewing project plans, gathering materials, and anticipating site-specific challenges

    • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure tools and supplies are in optimal condition

    • Maintain equipment by identifying issues such as miscalibration, wear, or malfunction

    • Document work through service reports, job files, and system updates

    • Serve as a direct point of contact for customers, representing Convergentz with professionalism and technical expertise

    • Support HVAC field technicians by providing hands-on field assistance as needed

    • Prioritize and schedule tasks based on project timelines and scopes

    • Identify parts needed for repairs and communicate urgency for timely delivery

    What You'll Bring

    • 2+ years of experience installing and servicing BAS controls or electrical systems (preferred)

    • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical certifications a plus

    • Strong communication skills-both written and verbal

    • Excellent customer service, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

    • Technical and mathematical aptitude, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and programming tools

    • Ability to work on construction sites and within active building environments

    • Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record

    • Willingness to travel locally as required
