Building Automation Architect

We are recruiting for a global technology leader developing intelligent, connected, and energy-efficient building solutions. You will work directly with enterprise customers, sales professionals, and engineering teams to create integrated smart-building systems.

This is a fully remote, client-facing position requiring 20%–50% travel throughout the United States, which may be regional depending on project needs. Limited international travel may also be required.

This position does not offer employment sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

This is a solution design and technical sales role, not a field technician, installer, or mechanical assembly position. Candidates must have experience designing complete building automation solutions and helping customers understand their technical and business value.

What You’ll Do

• Lead customer discovery meetings to identify operational and technical requirements
• Design complete building automation and smart-building solutions
• Develop system architectures, integration strategies, scopes of work, and technical recommendations
• Integrate HVAC, lighting, security, energy management, cloud platforms, and legacy systems
• Partner with sales teams throughout the pre-sales and proposal process
• Present proposed solutions to enterprise customers
• Coordinate with engineering and implementation teams to ensure successful delivery

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience designing building automation or smart-building solutions
• At least five years of experience in building automation, IoT-enabled facilities, or building systems engineering
• Design knowledge of BMS platforms, cloud-based building management solutions, and integration protocols
• Understanding of HVAC controls, lighting, security, and energy management systems
• Experience with consultative sales, pre-sales engineering, or solution development
• Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Ability to travel up to 50%

Experience limited primarily to installation, maintenance, commissioning, mechanical assembly, or field service will not meet the requirements.
