Position Summary:

We are currently seeking dedicated, high-quality building-based educators to support our students during periods when classroom teachers are on leave.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teach foundational reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science according to Common Core and Massachusetts Curriculum Standards
• Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher
• Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher
• Assist with such large group activities as reading aloud, storytelling, etc
• Create a classroom environment that is culturally responsive and conducive to learning, is age-appropriate and considers the interests of the students using a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, hands-on and play-based learning, discovery/center-based learning, etc.
• Uses relationship building as the foundation for behavior management and utilizes restorative practices to address behavior concerns
• Communicates with classroom teacher about any concerns regarding students.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of the information about students as is expected of a fully licensed teacher.
• Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Understanding of childhood development
• Strong classroom management skills
• Knowledge of restorative practices
• Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students.
• Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction is meeting the needs of all students

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Excellent communication skills in English are required
• Bilingual Spanish preferred

Pay Range

• $235 Per Diem
