About this Job
The mission of the Department of Insurance is to enforce the insurance laws and regulations of the state impartially, honestly and expeditiously.
The Louisiana Department of Insurance is seeking a Budget Manager to join the Office of Management & Finance/Budget Division. In this role, you will serve as the primary assistant to the Budget Administrator and provide functional oversight of the Departments daily budgetary operations. The position plays a key role in developing and managing the Departments complex budget, analyzing financial and expenditure data, monitoring funding availability, and providing critical budget information to executive leadership. You will also supervise budget staff and coordinate with internal and external partners on budget development, legislative requests, revenue projections, and financial reporting. If you are analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with complex financial information to support sound organizational decision-making, we encourage you to apply.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR
An advanced degree in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, or statistics plus three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
