Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II performs a range of budget responsibilities for the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) and works collaboratively with the Budget Team.

The incumbent independently analyzes, develops, maintains, and completes complex budget related technical andanalytical assignments.

The Analyst II supports Program Branch Chiefs and Administrative Assistants with budget planning and maintenance, provides technical and analytical guidance on fiscal issues, and assists in preparing DPR's branch expenditure reports and related funding details.

The employee will have the ability to contribute to the department in the following areas:

  • Budget Monitoring and Maintenance
  • Budget Development and Implementation
  • Fiscal and Administrative Analysis/Support

Working Conditions
The incumbent works in a high rise building and will be sitting for long periods of time in an office cubicle that is equipped with artificial light, temperature control, and standard office equipment. Ability to use a computer up to 8 hours a day.

NOTE: This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position's designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.

Beginning July 1, 2026, it is anticipated the position will be office-centered and employees will be expected to report to the office at least four days per week.
