    Position Summary:

    BSN Scholars Transition to Practice Program - December 2026 Graduates

    The BSN Scholars program, a partnership between the University of Tennessee College of Nursing and the University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC), supports BSN Scholars as they transition from nursing students to professional RNs. As December 2026 graduates, you are entering a structured, one-year Transition to Practice program designed to develop your clinical expertise, leadership abilities, and professional role while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

    Program Overview: As a BSN Scholar in the Transition to Practice program, you will receive personalized education and mentoring to strengthen your clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and professional judgment. You will be supported by unit nurse managers, clinical nurse specialists/educators, Transition to Practice program coordinators, and unit-based preceptors, ensuring a smooth and confident transition into your first professional nursing role.

    Program Highlights: Monthly sessions led by experienced nurses will focus on:

    1) Developing critical thinking and decision-making skills

    2) Enhancing leadership and communication abilities

    3) Promoting patient safety and quality outcomes

    4) Crafting an individualized professional development plan

    5) Integrating evidence-based practice into clinical care

    Program requirements for December 2026 Graduates:

    1) Full Participation: Attend all scheduled educational sessions throughout the 12-month program.

    2) Capstone Project: Complete a capstone evidence-based project demonstrating application of knowledge and skills gained during the program.

    3) Clinical Practice: Deliver nursing care under the supervision of supporting staff in alignment with UTMC standards, with ongoing performance evaluation through unit-based competency training and program expectations.

    4) Commitment to UTMC: Fulfill the program's post-graduation employment expectations as outlined in the BSN Scholars agreement.

    December 2026 Gradute of the BSN Scholars Program (https://www.utmedicalcenter.org/bsn-scholars)

    Current or anticipated Registered Nurse licensure in Tennessee, Valid Multistate RN License, or new graduate with pending results of NCLEX
