Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The mission of the nursing department is to prepare compassionate and caring nurse leaders in health who transform communities.
Primary Purpose of Position
The BSN Academic Enhancement Coordinator would supervise the student tutors. This person would assist nursing students to identify gaps in nursing knowledge based on testing performance analysis and create a structured remediation plan using the NCLEX testing package resources.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Commitment to diversity and inclusion in fulfillment of the university's mission, knowledgeable of university and pre-professional curriculum requirement; knowledgeable of tutoring practices and principles; attained intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret any pertinent course materials such as syllabi, course/homework instructions or any educational information that will assist in the student's learning experience. Ability to write daily reports and email correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with students or employees of organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and be able to explain/interpret to students and the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Highly skilled at multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks
Minimum Education/Experience
Master's degree in Higher Education or relevant field, required and Doctorate is preferred.
Experience in supporting students at risk; working in a learning center and/or knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices to support learning; and developing and implementing retention strategies.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Function Administrative Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Supervise, orient and train Professional Nursing Tutors.
Coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate academic course remediation activities and strategies.
Assist faculty and Academic Success Coach with early identification of at-risk students.
Provide support and foster relationships with students who are experiencing personal and academic difficulty.
Function Instructional Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Conduct guided study sessions for upper division prelicensure BSN students.
Conduct student success workshops for faculty and staff.
Conduct academic and life skills coaching for upper division prelicensure BSN students.
Function Information Technology Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Creates and updates marketing materials and strategies, including digital content for university website and social media.
Function Research Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Collects and tracks data to provide insights into student-level use and needs as well as the need for new interventions and institutional partnerships.
Demonstrate evidence based best practices in coordinating student success activities.
Develop, implement, track, and assess student interventions.
