    Description

    The Technician will execute day-to-day design, build, and deployment tasks within established broadcast environments, working under direction from senior engineering leads, and will serve as a hands-on operational resource to minimize customer outages through close collaboration across teams.Key Responsibilities

    • Support and maintain broadcast environments across baseband (SDI) and IP video, contribution/distribution workflows, encoding/decoding, monitoring, and timing systems.

    • Participate in mission-critical, 24x7 broadcast operations — performing real-time troubleshooting and escalating complex issues to senior engineering as needed.

    • Execute assigned build and deployment tasks in line with established designs and standards set by senior engineering leads.

    • Follow and help refine existing runbooks and operational procedures.

    • Create and maintain documentation on hardware, applications, and workflows.

    • Accept on-call rotation duties, supporting the team via phone, Teams, or email.

    • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues and integrate projects into daily operations.

    • Track operational data/metrics, identify problem areas, and provide actionable insight. Required Technical Skills

    • Broadcast Specs (signal flow, broadcast standards, and terminology)

    • Broadcast – Transport Stream / Multicast

    • Broadcast – Video/Audio Monitoring

    • Broadcast – Video Routing

    • Baseband (SDI) fluency with working knowledge of IP video (SMPTE ST 2110 awareness a plus, not required

    • Evertz experience a plus (vendor-trainable); fluency with comparable platforms such as Grass Valley, Imagine, or Harris is acceptable. Preferred Skills

    • Working knowledge of Techex (for SRT) or Zixi is a plus.

    • Familiarity with broadcast automation and Media Asset Management (MAM) concepts; deep platform expertise not required. Qualifications

    • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in broadcast operations or technical/engineering operations.

    • Solid grounding in core broadcast fundamentals: transport stream, multicast, video routing, and monitoring.

    • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux OS and TCP/IP protocols.

    • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

    • Strong customer focus with the ability to develop solutions through root-cause analysis.
