Bridge Engineer PE - DOT Bridge Design

Our client, an established transportation engineering firm with a strong DOT bridge program across the Midwest, is hiring a Bridge Engineer PE based in central Iowa. A local presence near Des Moines is preferred to support Iowa DOT work; regional candidates who can support Nebraska DOT projects will also be considered.

What you'll do:

- Lead design of highway bridges and structures for state DOT and local agency clients

- Prepare bridge plans, calculations, and specifications to AASHTO LRFD standards

- Perform load ratings, inspections support, and rehabilitation design

- Coordinate with DOT bridge offices, roadway teams, and contractors

- Mentor junior engineers and review their work

What we're looking for:

- PE license (Iowa PE or ability to obtain quickly)

- 8+ years of structural/bridge design experience

- State DOT bridge experience strongly preferred (Iowa DOT, Nebraska DOT, or South Dakota DOT a big plus)

- Strong knowledge of AASHTO standards and procedures

- Experience with bridge design software (e.g., LEAP, CSiBridge, or similar)

- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
